Every day, Dan Welsh rolls up his sleeves, filters out political noise, and works diligently to create a town future every resident can be proud of.
- Three terms of principled, productive, innovative service on the Town Board. Noted for outstanding fiscal responsibility.
- Organized Lewisboro's Sustainability Committee to initiate and support active projects in recycling and energy reduction.
- Shepherded the first "Complete Streets" policy in Westchester to enactment, and followed that with a town-wide Bike & Pedestrian Plan which has been adopted as part of the Master Plan. Advocate for improving the safety and connectivity of our neighborhoods, board liaison to Open Space & Preserves Advisory Committee and Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
- Co-founded the Northern Westchester Energy Action Consortium. Member of Sustainable Westchester formation steering committee; Past Co-chair, Transportation & Land Use, currently Director of Sustainable Westchester's Community Power program (Westchester Power), first-in-State with over 100,000 residents and small businesses in 27 Westchester municipalities.
Dan Welsh brings financial, IT and small business experience to the position, along with the perspective of 50+ years as a Lewisboro resident.
Hands-on Approach, Persistant, Results-oriented
Dan's many project initiatives include: Goldens Bridge Complete Streets study and community organizing, John Jay--Michelle Estates Cross Country/Community Trail project, and the John Jay Safe Routes to School workshop and study.
